Payment and delivery

Payment

  • Payment for digital cards is made exclusively via the online payment gateway Stripe Connect.
  • The amount paid by the buyer is automatically split at the moment of payment so that at least 93% of the card value is transferred to the Stripe account of the respective athlete.
  • The athlete’s share may increase with the rising value of the card. Fees for processing the payment are set as a percentage of the transaction value and a fixed amount per transfer.
  • Payments are processed fully automatically and the athlete receives their share immediately after the transaction has been successfully completed.

Delivery of the digital card

  • The subject of purchase is a digital card in electronic form, not a physical product.
  • After the order has been successfully paid, an original digital card is created for the buyer and this card is recorded on the Polygon blockchain (NFT).
  • The actual electronic card is securely stored on the Athlentik platform. At the owner’s request, it can be transferred at any time to a crypto wallet of their choice or another account supported by the relevant technology.
  • If the buyer provides their crypto wallet address already in the order, the card will be sent directly to this wallet after creation.

Confirmation and delivery time

  • Once the digital card has been created, the buyer receives a confirmation email containing a card preview in PDF format. This document serves only as a preview and for the buyer’s own records; the legally binding and valid version is the electronic card stored on the Athlentik platform.
  • In the pilot phase of the project, creation and recording of cards on the blockchain is carried out manually. The delivery time for the digital card (i.e. creation, blockchain recording and sending of the confirmation) is therefore a maximum of 3 working days from the receipt of payment.
  • The aim is to gradually introduce a fully automated process in which the digital card will be created, recorded on the blockchain and delivered to the buyer within minutes of successful payment.
